Flexing Your Generosity Muscle

By Chris Marlow

It’s early morning, the sun is coming over the horizon, and the soft rays are beginning to push back the darkness. I’m in Virginia Beach. As I walk along the boardwalk, fighter jets dash through the sky, and I can’t help but feel their presence and power. Combat ships float on the ocean, and Navy Seals train just a few miles to the south. Along the boardwalk, statues to honor the fallen and those who have fought are everywhere.

I stop and pause, and I’m reminded of the importance of service. It does not matter if you’re in special operations, a teacher at a local school, or someone who chooses to donate their money to a worthy cause—service matters.
