Our first home was simple: a 1,200-square-foot, two-bedroom townhouse. The seven years we spent in it were simple too. My husband and I both worked full time and were relaxed with our expenses. Taking care of ourselves and doing things that brought us joy was effortless. We enjoyed living at the quiet end of our complex. Along the way, we had our first baby, and there in our townhouse we settled into a rhythm as a family of three relatively easily.
