We live in a world that constantly tells us more is better. More possessions, more commitments, more distractions. But deep down, we all know that more does not always lead to better. In fact, it often distracts us from it.
That is why we chose minimalism as the theme for this issue of Simplify Magazine.
Minimalism is not about living with the fewest number of possessions possible—in fact, it doesn’t apply strictly to physical possessions. Minimalism is about living with intention. It is about living with the right amount—not too much, not too little—so that our focus remains on what truly matters. It is about removing distractions, commitments, and possessions that weigh us down so we can fully embrace the things that bring our lives joy, purpose, and fulfillment.
No matter where you are in life—whether you are raising a family, growing a career, downsizing, or simply searching for a greater sense of peace—minimalism offers a path to greater clarity.
That’s why I am so excited to introduce you to this amazing issue of Simplify Magazine. In it, you will find articles that explore the impact of owning less, from the psychology of decluttering to the way minimalism shapes our habits, finances, and mental well-being. You will read about practical approaches to simplifying, the science behind why less is often more, and the personal transformations that happen when we let go of excess.
You will hear from voices who have studied, lived, and taught these principles—writers, behavioral experts, simplicity advocates, professors, and thought leaders who bring a wealth of experience and insight into what it means to live with less and gain more.
This issue is not a list of rules. It is an invitation to rethink what you own, what you value, and how you want to live. The world tells us to chase more. But this issue brings a new message: What if the best life isn’t found in having more but in needing less?
With you on this journey,
Joshua Becker, Founder of Simplify Magazine
